Entries have opened for the General Practice Awards 2026, with PCNs and primary care teams invited to put forward work that has improved outcomes, tackled inequalities and strengthened care in the community.

The awards – organised by Pulse PCN’s publisher Cogora – recognise achievement across general practice and primary care, including work in service redesign, clinical improvement, prevention, innovation and leadership.

The deadline for entries is 31 May 2026 and more details about entering can be found here.

Last year’s PCN of the Year was Kentish Town South PCN, London, which was recognised for its data-driven approach to addressing health inequalities and its creative and arts-based activities used to engage vulnerable patient groups. Its work included the Complete Care Communities Programme and an in-house arts and health charity, with learning shared locally and internationally.

PCN-led projects were also recognised across other categories in 2025. Leigh PCN Mental Wellbeing Support won the clinical improvement award for mental health, while South Sefton PCN and Southport and Formby PCN were recognised in the clinical improvement award for public health and prevention for their work to improve cervical screening uptake through community outreach.

The awards are open to professions across primary care. Readers can also nominate GPs, nurses, practice managers, reception teams, pharmacists, workforce wellbeing initiatives, sustainability projects and suppliers that are helping improve care.

Networks and teams can enter the awards to showcase initiatives that have made a clear impact on patient care, prevention, access or workforce development over the past year.

Shortlisted entrants will be notified in early September. A gala dinner and awards ceremony – where the winners will be announced – will take place on 4 December at the Novotel London West.

Those wishing to enter can find more information and submit their nominations via the General Practice Awards website.
