Our second instalment of the Pulse PCN Podcast is now available.
In this episode of the Pulse PCN podcast, deputy editor Beth Gault and editor Victoria Vaughan discuss the use of AI in primary care.
We talk with Dr Dan Bunstone, clinical director at Warrington Innovation Network (WIN) and chair of the data and digital design group at NHS Confederation, about how they are implementing AI in their PCN, as well as the benefits and risks of the technology.
Dr Bunstone shares how they had to pause their ambient scribe technology when NHS England released new guidance earlier this year, and how they then reintroduced it into practice.
He says: ‘AI holds a huge amount of potential. It’s certainly new territory for us all at the moment and platforms like Perplexity and Chat GPT have gone from being obscure to pretty much used on a daily basis.’
He adds that there is a ‘real gap and real potential’ for AI to focus on health, but that ‘we need to get it right’.
The Pulse PCN Podcast is hosted on Buzzsprout and you can listen on Apple or Spotify now.
